AIDA 3 – The Advanced Freediving Course
AIDA 3 – 420 €
The AIDA 3 Freediver Course is designed for divers who are ready to go deeper, refine their technique, and expand their knowledge of safety and physiology. After certification, you’ll be able to dive safely with a buddy or professional guide to a maximum depth of 30m.
🌊 Prerequisites:
- Minimum age: 18 years (16/17 with parent or guardian consent)
- Signed medical statement
- Ability to swim 200m non-stop without fins and 300m non-stop with mask, snorkel, and fins
- Completion of AIDA 2 Freediver (or AIDA 2 crossover from another agency)
📅 Course structure (3 days):
- Day 1: Knowledge development + confined water training (static & dynamic apnea)
- Day 2: Knowledge development, open water sessions & theory exam
- Day 3: Open water session
🎯 Requirements to certify:
- 2:45 minutes static apnea
- 55m dynamic apnea with fins
- 24m constant weight dive
- Pass the theory exam
What you’ll learn & practice:
- Refining safety procedures and buddy techniques
- Advanced equalisation (Frenzel method)
- Free fall technique
- Using training tables
- Managing pressure-related risks (increasing & decreasing pressure)
- Advanced skills in static apnea, dynamic apnea, free immersion & constant weight
Theory topics include:
- Physiology of freediving & mammalian dive response
- Equalisation techniques & barotrauma
- The lungs at depth & buoyancy
- Shallow water blackout
- Training concepts & surface intervals
- Decompression sickness awareness
- Freediver code of conduct
